BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- A GoFundMe was created for a woman who died in a crash, which involved an alleged unlicensed DUI driver, on East Truxtun Avenue on Saturday. The Kern County Coroner's Office identified the woman as Lorena De La Torre-Luna, 47, of Bakersfield. According to the GoFundMe, proceeds raised from the GoFundMe will go toward De La Torre-Luna's funeral. De La Torre-Luna is described as "a devoted Catholic, loved by her family, friends, and everyone that met her along the way," according to the GoFundMe. Aircraft crash reported in NW Bakersfield Martin Alameda Sanchez, 25, was arrested Saturday after his Dodge Durango rear-ended a car parked on the north curb in the 1200 block of East Truxtun Avenue, police said. Sanchez has pleaded not guilty to charges including second-degree murder and is being held without bail. His next court hearing is set for Oct. 10. According to a probable cause declaration, the Dodge rear-ended the car “at a high rate of speed.” A records check showed Sanchez has never been licensed, the filing says; he was unable to provide proof of insurance.
