GAITHERSBURG, Md. (DC News Now) -- A family of eight and their dog were displaced after their home caught fire in Gaithersburg early Wednesday morning, according to the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFS). In a post on X, Pete Piringer, a spokesperson for the fire department, said around 5 a.m. on Oct. 2, units were called to Duvall Lane off of West Deer Park Road for a house fire. (X/mcfrsPIO) Piringer said seven adults, one child and a dog escaped the fire and no one was hurt. Officials said about 50 firefighters were on the scene.
