BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- A 30-year-old woman on Tuesday pleaded not guilty to a charge of first-degree murder filed in connection with the shooting death of a man in Rosamond last year. Vanessa Marie Navarro is being held without bail in the death of Freddy Orlando Herrera Jr., 32, according to sheriff's officials and court records. She's due back in court Oct. 11. Herrera was shot March 2, 2023, on 28th Street West, officials said. He was taken to Antelope Valley Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
