32-Year-Old Woman Dies in Scooter vs Box-Truck Crash near Capitol Avenue SACRAMENTO, CA (October 2, 2024) – Geohaira Sosa died Thursday morning, in an electric-scooter crash on Alhambra Boulevard near Capitol Avenue. Dispatchers received calls in the area shortly after 10:30 a.m., near L Street on August 29th. According to reports, a box truck driver struck a woman riding an electric scooter in the area. The exact details leading up to the collision are still unclear. Emergency personnel pronounced the woman dead at the scene. She was later identified by Sacramento officials as 32-year-old Sosa, a first-year psychiatry resident at UC Davis Department of Psychiatry. The box truck driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with authorities. Sacramento officials are continuing to investigate the cause of the fatal accident.
