BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office arrested three people after a drug investigation. According to the sheriff's office, agents with LPSO's Narcotics Division have been investigating Akeem Fox, 37. LPSO referred to Fox as a "poly-drug trafficker." LPSO said, "Agents learned Fox was on supervised parole for numerous felony narcotics convictions." As the investigation unfolded, deputies initiated a traffic stop on Fox. The stop happened on Monday, Sept. 30. "During that stop, Fox and a passenger identified as 42 year old Carnaiel George attempted to flee," LPSO said. They were taken into custody along with Brenda George, 61. Agents subsequently conducted two search warrants on Sycamore Drive in Springfield. The sheriff's office said the following items were seized: Around 470 grams of pressed fentanyl pills. Around 6.24 grams of fentanyl. Around 56 grams of methamphetamine. Around 232 grams of marijuana. $1,318. Mark 45 .45 caliber rifle. Student in West Feliciana Parish arrested after weapon goes off in backpack Fox was arrested and charged with possession with the intent to distribute Schedule I drug, possession with the intent to distribute Schedule II CDS, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting an officer, inspection sticker, and view outward or inward through windshield or window. Carnaiel was arrested and charged with possession of Schedule II drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, contraband penal institution and resisting an officer. "Brenda George was arrested through a summons for a misdemeanor drug offense." LPSO said.
