(COLORADO) — The Colorado Secretary of State's office said mail ballots will be sent out sometime in the next week or two. With election season coming up, here are a few things that might help potential voters. According to Colorado's Secretary of State's Office, mail ballots will be mailed starting on Oct. 11 through Oct. 18, mail ballots should arrive 20 to 15 days before the election depending on when the county mailed the ballots and the postal service. Overseas and military voters' ballots were sent out by Sept. 21. Colorado allows voters to register through Election Day on Nov. 5 but said that to get a ballot by mail, a voter must be registered at least eight days before the election. Those who wish to register or want to check their registration can do so on the Secretary of State's website. Mail ballots must be returned no later than 7 p.m. on Election Day, ballots can be returned through the mail or to a drop box located around the state. A list of drop-off locations can be found on the election page of the Secretary of State's website or by contacting your county's Clerk and Recorder's office. Colorado offers ballot tracking through BallotTrax which allows voters to track their ballots from being sent to accepted. Information about ballot questions can be found in the Ballot Information Booklet or the Blue Book which have started to arrive in the mail. The Blue Book can also be found online at Colorado's legislative website along with fiscal impact statements about ballot questions.
