BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The Southern University Jaguars are hosting the Nicholls State University Colonels on Saturday, Oct. 5. This game comes after a BYE week for the Jaguars. Southern head coach Terrence Graves spoke about the upcoming matchup at a Tuesday press conference. In Southern's last game against the Prairie View A&M Panthers, the Jaguars secured the win in overtime with a final score of 31-24. Quarterback Noah Bodden threw for 189 yards and two touchdowns. Graves gave an update on quarterback Czavian Teasett's ankle injury that he sustained during the game against Jackson State. "He's moving around well, he was throwing the football around," Graves said. "They're doing a really good job of getting him back, if he had it his way, he'd probably try to go, we're going to continue to see how he goes this week, but me personally, probably going to hold him." Southern is ranked No. 1 in the SWAC West with an overall record of 2-2. Nicholls ranks fifth in the Southland Conference with a record of 1-3. Nicholls is coming off a 66-0 victory over SWAC opponent, Mississippi Valley State University Delta Devils.
