DUBLIN, Ohio (WCMH) -- A family-owned restaurant group is expanding with a new central Ohio pizzeria. Gallo's Pizza and Bar is now open at 5851 Frantz Road in Dublin after hosting a grand opening Wednesday, the eatery announced on social media. The 130-seat restaurant is serving up New York-style pizza, along with a selection of starters, sandwiches, wings and salads. Columbus Mac and Cheese Festival returns this week "This is a whole new concept for us," said Nick Gallo, a partner in the restaurant group, in a release. "I think with this one, we're more accessible with the type of experience we're offering." The Gallo Family also operates Gallo's Kitchen at 2820 Nottingham Road, Gallo's on High at 4215 N. High St., Gallo's Tap Room at 5019 Olentangy River Rd. and Gallo's Pizzeria inside Bridge Park's North Market at 6750 Longshore St. Gallo's is one of several pizzeria's that have recently opened in central Ohio. Mikey’s Late Night Slice, the Columbus pizza empire known for its New York-style pies, has opened two new central Ohio eateries in former Weenie Wonder locations that closed earlier this year. The pizza joint has taken over the Weenies locations that once served hot dogs and milkshakes next to Pins Mechanical Co. at Easton Town Center and in Dublin’s Bridge Park. Mikey’s has partnered with Rise Brands, the parent company of Pins, to launch the eateries, presenting the "opportunity to unite two staples for a perfect night out -- pizza and games." Spirit Airlines axing several flights to and from Columbus An eatery serving pan pizzas is taking over the building that previously housed the recently closed breakfast restaurant SuperChef's in Gahanna. In July, Newark pizzeria Pizza Nerds announced it would be moving to Gahanna. While co-owner Brent Gargasz said he could not give an address when he previously talked to NBC4, he has since announced the pizzeria will open at 1376 Cherry Bottom Road, the unit that previously housed SuperChef’s.  Gallo's Pizza and Bar is open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
