CONNERSVILLE, Ind. — No one was injured after a car full of five juveniles was shot up last week inside a Connersville park. An 18-year-old from New Castle has since been arrested on felony charges. Local police were called around 11:30 p.m. Friday to Roberts Park in Connersville on report of gunshots being heard. Upon arrival, officers reportedly found a car that had been shot up and crashed during the gunfire. Luke Charles Michael Reeves mugshot CPD said none of the five juveniles that were inside the car had been injured. Detectives later found three bullet holes from a 9mm handgun outside the vehicle. Officers spoke with the juvenile victims, who said they were attempting to drive away from the shooter when shots started ringing out. They reportedly crashed the car during the commotion of the shooting. The victims told police that the suspect then got into a car with another male and that the suspect was an 18-year-old who lived in New Castle. CPD then called New Castle police and said to be on the lookout for Luke Charles Michael Reeves. Reeves was eventually located by various police crews in New Castle and was taken into custody after a short foot pursuit. Detectives also reportedly found the gun believed to be used in the shooting near the suspect. The gun was allegedly stolen. CPD said Reeves has since been booked into the Fayette County Jail on the following charges: Attempted Murder (Level 1 Felony) Criminal Recklessness (Level 5 Felony) Possession of a Stolen Firearm (Level 5 Felony) Unlawful Carrying of a Handgun (Class A Misdemeanor) Reeves had an initial hearing on Monday in Fayette Circuit Court, where it was determined he would be held on a $250,000 cash bond. A jury trial in Reeves' case is scheduled to begin on Feb. 3, 2025.
