KANEOHE, Hawaii (KHON2) — On Saturday, Sept. 28, Windward Mall will host a marketplace for Hawaii's youngest entrepreneurs at the Keiki Rise Makeke Pop-Up Event. The event features approximately a dozen young entrepreneurs, each displaying unique products ranging from handcrafted crafts to delicious baked goods. New ‘Scan if Found’ stickers help locate ocean gear, save a life Among the participating vendors are Megan Ing of Little Loops Crochet Company and Quianna Mae Madayag of Treats by Mae. Megan, a 15-year-old from Manoa, runs Little Loops Crochet Company, where she crafts intricate crochet plushies and bags. "I've always loved art and crocheting," she said, showcasing her popular bunny plushies with removable hoods. Quianna Mae, 19, a baker from Waipahu, specializes in custom desserts. Her standout offerings included pumpkin spice cake pops and Ube tarts. "Keiki Rise has helped me gain confidence and connect with other entrepreneurs," she said. The event, located at the center court near the food court, also features live music, performances from Hula Halau, and various promotions in partnership with Blessed Life. Cadinha emphasized the importance of supporting young entrepreneurs, saying "This event is about creating opportunities for our youth to grow and connect with their peers." "I like seeing what I do, and seeing how it impacts the community. I feel like entrepreneurship is like the first step into the real world as a child, so I think it's really special," said Megan.
