FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A 29-year-old man from Canada was arrested with 44 pounds of suspected cocaine after a traffic stop on Interstate 5 in Fresno County, according to the California Highway Patrol. CHP says the discovery of drugs with an estimated street value of approximately $1.6 million was discovered after a CHP Central Division sergeant made an enforcement stop on a Chrysler Pacifica on Interstate 5 and Shields Avenue.  The sergeant noted several indicators that the driver may be involved in criminal activity and developed probable cause to search the Chrysler, CHP says. During a search, the sergeant said he found the suspected cocaine, sealed within two totes, located in the rear cargo area of the Chrysler.  California Highway PatrolCalifornia Highway PatrolCalifornia Highway Patrol “This seizure underscores the dedication of our officers to keeping dangerous drugs out of our communities.
