WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW)—The City of Wichita announced that the Maya Angelou Branch of the Wichita Public Library will close on Oct. 1 for renovations. The city said the branch at 3051 E. 21st St. will undergo a complete interior remodel as part of the library's master plan to enhance services at branch locations. The library website says construction is expected to take three to four months. When the branch reopens, it will have enhanced facilities, including a new reading room and improved technology and program spaces. During the construction process, Maya Angelou Branch customers are being redirected to the Rockwell Branch, 5939 E. 9th St. They can also try these nearby library locations: Advanced Learning Library, 711 W. 2nd St. Evergreen Branch, 2601 N. Arkansas Walters Branch, 4195 E. Harry St. Information about the project is available on the city's website here.
