Man dead following crash on elevated Twin Span

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Police Department is investigating after a man was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Friday morning, Sept. 27.
According to officers, at 1 a.m., they were called to the scene of a vehicle on fire on Interstate 10 east near Ridgeway Boulevard, on the elevated portion of the twin span.

Upon arrival, officers said an unresponsive man was found inside the vehicle.
He was pronounced dead on the scene by EMS.
St. Tammany Parish authorities were also alerted to dispatch a boat to check the waters beneath for additional victims or evidence.
The crash left all lanes closed but they have since reopened, according to the NOPD.
