HUNTINGTON COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) -- Huntington County Community School Corporation (HCCSC) suspended a student Friday after the student made a threatening statement toward Riverview Middle School, according to the district. A bus driver taking students from Riverview Middle School to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Huntington overheard and reported the statement. Police, FBI determine origin of school threat spread on social media and shared at Huntington County Community School Corp. Although police determined the threat was not credible and nobody was in danger, HCCSC "immediately" suspended the student and "is committed to pursuing the maximum disciplinary action permitted by school policy and law." The incident comes after two separate threats happened within the school district last week. Threat overheard on Huntington North bus that led to eLearning day deemed to be hoax HCCSC Superintendent John Trout said the district will continue to uphold its safety protocols and work alongside police to keep schools safe.
