DINWIDDIE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Multiple localities throughout Virginia's southern, central and tidewater areas are under a tornado watch until 6 p.m. on Friday due to impacts from Tropical Storm Helene. According to the National Weather Service, a tornado watch means that tornadoes are possible in and near the watch area. This is different from a warning, which would mean that a tornado has been sighted or indicated by weather radar.
