This story will be updated as more information becomes available. --------------------------------------- Original Story GARY, Ind. -- A statewide silver alert has been declared for a Gary man who was last seen in early August. According to the alert, the Gary Police Department is investigating the disappearance of 79-year-old Charles James from Gary. Officials describe James as being around 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing around 152 pounds. James is described as having gray hair with brown eyes and was last seen wearing an unknown color shirt and blue jeans. The alert said that James was last seen in Gary at around 10 a.m. on Aug. 6. He is reportedly believed to be "in extreme danger and may require medical assistance."
