By Robin Reedy The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) is the nation's largest grassroots mental health organization. NAMI Nevada is the state organization providing support and guidance for the NAMI Nevada affiliates throughout the state, including Southern Nevada, Reno, and Western Nevada. NAMI Nevada is hosting NAMIWalks Nevada across Nevada to raise funds and awareness for important mental health support programs across the state, such as the NAMI Western Nevada's Warmline and Teen Text Line, support groups and education throughout the state, and legislation to improve mental health in Nevada. Details When: Oct. 19, 2024 at 10am in South Lake Tahoe and Elko, Nev. Why: NAMIWalks raises awareness and funds for the mental health support services that our community needs. Every dollar raised goes directly to support the continuation of many important mental health support services, including support groups, education, advocacy training, veteran mental health support, the Warmline and Teen Text Line, and mental health resource helplines across the state.
