Wednesday cold front to knock heat and humidity down
Sep 24, 2024
AUSTIN (KXAN) -- A few downpours and storms continue through late evening after providing parts of North Austin with more than 2" of rain Tuesday evening!
CENTRAL TEXAS RAINFALL TOTALS
Rain chances drop down to near zero soon after midnight as rain continues moving southeast and out of the area.
We have one more chance for a few showers or storms on Wednesday. Rain chances are only at 20% with more of us just seeing a mix of sun and clouds with highs reaching the low 90s.
Later in the day a cold front clears out the rain, takes away the humidity and brings cooler temperatures back to Central Texas.
Humidity drops quickly later in the day on Wednesday
Post-cold front bliss!
As the front pushes through late Wednesday the temperatures will drop and the wind will pick up. It may get a little breezy Wednesday night and Thursday as the drier and cooler air settles in.
Temperatures may not get out of the 80s on Thursday, but we'll be back into the 90s for Friday and the weekend.
Highs the next four days
Our overnight lows should drop into the 60s and stay there for quite some time. Enjoy it!
