ROCHESTER, NY (WROC) -  After a mostly dry morning, our afternoon has turned wet again. Scattered showers will remain in our forecast this evening and into the night, although I suspect there's going to be a lot more off vs. on in terms of time spent with wet weather. Much like last night, temperatures won't budge much. Our Wednesday keeps the chance of rain alive, but only to the tune of a roughly 40% rain chance. We'll see what we can do about briefly sneaking high temperatures into the lower 70s. That risk for rain showers lingers into early Thursday before a frontal boundary pushes through, effectively killing our rain chances moving forward. That keeps our late week forecast dry and our weekend quiet. One wrinkle that we'll need to continue to monitor is the inland progress of (currently) Tropical Storm Helene. The leftovers are expected to merge with some upper energy post landfall, and the future of those leftovers are still very much uncertain. It's possible some spillover cloud cover could be a thing. Too soon to steer the forecast that direction, so for now we keep our weekend wording as "partly cloudy".
