BLACK RIVER FALLS, Wis. (WFRV) - Two individuals from Wisconsin were taken into custody on Tuesday after a K9 alerted a deputy to potential contraband inside a vehicle. According to a release, on Sept. 23, a deputy with the Jackson County Sheriff's Office located a wanted subject, 34-year-old Jarred Mortenson of Black River Falls, at a residence in Black River Falls. The release states that Mortenson had an active civil bench warrant issued for his arrest through Jackson County. Two additional Green Bay men arrested for possible involvement in August murder case, charges referred During the investigation, a K9 positively alerted the deputy of potential drugs inside a vehicle. A subsequent search of the vehicle was performed, and the deputy reportedly located a large quantity of suspected heroin, marijuana, U.S. currency, and a firearm. 21-year-old Wisconsin man dies while climbing the Devils Tower National Monument in Wyoming The passenger of the vehicle, 43-year-old Thomas English of Black River Falls, was taken into custody for possession of drugs with intent to deliver. He was also arrested for being a felon in possession of a firearm. Both Mortenson and English were transported to the Jackson County Jail. This incident remains under investigation, and no additional details have been provided.
