CRITTENDEN COUNTY, Ark. — A former court clerk in Marion, Arkansas is headed to jail after pleading guilty to stealing more than $300,000 in court fines. Megan Goudy was fired and charged with theft and forgery more than two years ago. She pleaded guilty Monday in a Crittenden County court. Goudy allegedly misappropriated over $320,000 in court fines while she was a clerk at District Court in Marion, Arkansas between 2019 and 2022. A state audit put the amount involved closer to $415,000. Former clerk accused of stealing $320K from Marion court Prosecutors also said Goudy had stolen from previous employers. She was sentenced to four months in county jail and must pay restitution of $384,000. As part of the accepted plea, Goudy will be placed on supervised probation for 10 years, along with 10 years of unsupervised probation.
