In a statement from Steve Long, the chief executive officer of Hancock Health, he said about a year ago, the system engaged with a company called Revology to provide leadership to the hospital's revenue cycle team. According to its website, Revology is a tech-enabled revenue cycle management firm.
During the past year, Long said that a purely local approach would not be enough to meet future patient volumes and a "full range of experts" is needed for the Hancock Health revenue cycle group. This caused the hospital to transition the entire department to Revology on Nov. 4.

"Please know this decision was not made lightly and is not an effort reduce FTEs or to save money," Long said in the statement. "This is a strategic decision designed to help with the tremendous growth we are experiencing, and to be ready for even greater growth in the future. The ultimate goal is to create a more customer focused billing process that exceeds the expectations of our patients in a way that also allows our revenue cycle associates to be fulfilled in their work environment.
"We are grateful to each member of the revenue cycle team who makes the decision to transition to Revology and ultimately remain working with and on Hancock Health business," the statement concluded. "Please join me in thanking them for their willingness to create an even better approach to revenue cycle for our patients and make Health Possible for all the residents of east central Indiana!"
