FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A 63-year-old Fresno man riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle died after he drove off the roadway onto the dirt right shoulder in Fresno County Sunday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol. CHP says that, around 8:40 am, officers responded to a call about an injury collision on Sample Road, west of Pittman Hills Road. Investigators say the man was driving a Harley Davidson motorcycle westbound on Sample Road, west of Pittman Hills Road. The motorcyclist went off the roadway onto the dirt right shoulder of Sample Road, where according to CHP he collided with a metal road sign and was ejected onto the dirt shoulder.  The motorcyclist died at the scene. The rider was wearing a motorcycle helmet at the time of the crash. The use of alcohol is not suspected to be a factor in this crash, according to the California Highway Patrol.
