CHULA VISTA— The Park Plaza outpost of Farmer’s Table, which is primarily focused on breakfast and brunch, has extended its hours for a new Italian restaurant within the restaurant called Acqua E Farina. From 4 p.m. on, it’ll offer a dinner menu from chef Alberto Morreale that includes cacio e pepe pizza, Florentine steak, and an assortment of pasta dishes based on fresh pasta made in a glassed-in kitchen within the view of diners. Other fun touches include cannolis served tableside from vintage cigarette trays and a grand limoncello fountain from the bar. 330 F Street. MISSION VALLEY— Graduating from local farmers markets and catering business to a full-fledged restaurant, Mama G’s Kitchen & Sauce is cooking up Peruvian cuisine served with some of owner Gloria’s signature chile-based sauces. Find empanadas, yucca fries, and ceviche in leche de tigre along with chifa dishes like arroz chaufa and lomo saltada. 407 Camino Del Rio S. MISSION VALLEY— Pacific Beach’s La Clochette has expanded into a second location across from Civita Park. The French-style bakery and cafe, which is now open daily from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., is brewing up coffee and tea drinks to pair with its fresh-baked pastries and daytime eats like a croissant breakfast sandwich with scrambled eggs and almond pesto, a housemade yogurt and granola bowl with fruit, and a farro beet salad with goat cheese. 7995 Civita Boulevard Suite 11. CARLSBAD— The owners of the three-decades-old Gami Sushi in Carmel Valley are behind Fish Boon, a new elevated sushi spot in North County whose experienced head chef is an alum of La Mesa’s Banbu Sushi. With live music offered every Saturday, the restaurant serves a menu of sashimi, nigiri, hand rolls, and a vast array of specialty sushi rolls along with poke bowls, salads, and hot plates including chicken katsu, teriyaki steak, and mixed tempura. 2628 Gateway Road #135. OLD TOWN— A new rooftop sushi bar called Tako has emerged atop El Sueño. While the ground-floor restaurant serves a decidedly Mexican menu, the upstairs space is dishing up everything from traditional sushi to seafood crudo from Eric Steadman (Hane, Barbusa). Designed like a speakeasy, the 1,100-square-foot space includes a 12-seat cocktail bar mixing up drinks that feature tequila, Japanese whisky, and sake. 2836 Juan Street.
