Anderson teen arrested after reported stabbing over stolen moped

ANDERSON, Ind. -- A 16-year-old Anderson resident has been arrested after a reported stabbing over a stolen moped that occurred on Sunday in the 900 block of W 10th St.
According to a news release from the Anderson Police Department, officers with the department were called to a local hospital to investigate a reported stabbing. When they arrived, they spoke with a 21-year-old man who was suffering from a non-life-threatening laceration.

Officers said that the 21-year-old was reportedly involved in a dispute with the 16-year-old over a stolen moped in the 900 block of W 10th St. During the dispute, the release alleges that the juvenile stabbed the 21-year-old with a knife.
The case was eventually assigned to the criminal investigations division of the department. The release said that during the investigation, detectives were able to locate the juvenile reportedly involved in the stabbing.
The juvenile, who was unidentified by police, was reportedly placed into custody. The investigation is ongoing and all arrest affidavits have been submitted to the Madison County Prosecutor's Office for review.
