GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – Georgetown County deputies arrested Sunday a 20-year-old man accused in the deadly shooting of a Charlotte teen. The incident happened Sunday afternoon at the Plantersville Country Store. Details about the shooting are limited; however, Georgetown County Coroner Chase Ridgeway said a 16-year-old from Charlotte died at the scene. After the shooting, deputies warned residents that the suspect, identified as Daemon Hykem Sanders, was considered armed and dangerous and posed a threat to the community. He was arrested shortly after 7 p.m. on a murder charge. Sanders is being held at the Georgetown County Detention Center. The teenage victim is expected to undergo an autopsy at the Medical University of South Carolina on Wednesday.
