NORMAN, Okla. (KFOR) - Norman Police warned residents Sunday afternoon of major flooding in the roadways. "Due to the heavy rainfall, Norman is experiencing localized flooding on roadways across the city. We encourage people to be cautious when traveling until the water recedes this afternoon. Never drive into high water. Turn around, don’t drown," Norman PD posted on their Facebook page. KFOR has a team headed to Norman to inspect where the serious floods are occurring. If you or your loved ones live in Norman and experience damage due to flooding, the city has created an online portal to help report it. Anytime there is flooding the city said it wants to know what it can do to make Norman safer. The Stormwater Division of the City of Norman is asking the public to report property damage as a result of flooding when necessary. Officials say they can use that information to apply for community grants to improve the city. Under the new system, residents can upload information and photos of damage to a new online portal. Officials stress that making this report does not substitute for filing insurance claims.
