First responders transported the driver of the car to the hospital with serious injuries. No other injuries were reported.
"All of a sudden, you hear, like, a boom sound, like an explosion," said Maha Hamdan, owner of the Posh Salon, one of the two impacted businesses, along with Lenox Nails next door.
"I thought I died," said Hamdan. "I literally thought, like there was a bomb in the building exploded, and that was the last of it. I thought we were dead."
At around 1 p.m., Hamdan was helping a client when the crash happened. She said the car caught on fire after it crashed, and people who were passing by helped the driver out of the vehicle before firefighters arrived.
"You wonder what happened, like, how a car could jump the curb and be inside of the salon so quickly?" said Haley Wells, who arrived shortly after the crash happened.
As of Saturday night, there has been no update on the driver's condition.
This is the second time the building has been involved in a crash, after a bus slammed into the south side of it in March of 2017, injuring three people.
"I'm taking a vacation. That's what that means," said Hamdan when asked what she'll do next.
