SANTA FE, N.M. (KRQE) – A man with a criminal history dating back to 2021 was arrested near Santa Fe early Friday morning with several Molotov cocktails in his car. Benjamin Hinojos called for help and said he was being chased by eight cars on I-25. Albuquerque man sentenced to 12 years in federal prison for 2019 crime spree When a Santa Fe Sheriff's Office deputy responded, he saw three Molotov cocktails on the front passenger seat. Hinojos admitted to making them and was arrested for being a felon in possession of three explosive devices. Hinojos has been in trouble with the law before. In April 2019, he led police on a chase after carjacking a truck with a boat attached to it. He served 3.5 years in prison. He was arrested in 2021 for running from police during a traffic stop. He was sentenced to 18 months in prison.
