RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Registered voters across the Commonwealth can now cast their ballot early for the Nov. 5, 2024 general election. Where can I cast my ballot early? According to the Virginia Department of Elections, all general registrar's offices offer early voting. Additional satellite locations will also offer early voting depending on the jurisdiction which can be found on the department's website. The deadline to register to vote is Oct. 15. After this deadline, those who wish to register may do so but they will be required to vote by provisional ballot. What do I need to bring with me? When arriving to your local registrar's office or satellite voting location, you must provide your name, address and an acceptable form of identification. Valid forms of ID can are listed below: Voter-Identification-Chart-Revised-08.23.2023Download If you do not provide an acceptable form of ID, you'll need to sign an ID Confirmation Statement or a provisional ballot will be offered to you and you would then have until Friday at noon following the election to provide an copy of an acceptable form of ID to the electoral board or sign an ID Confirmation Statement. Who's on the ballot? This election cycle's ballot includes candidates for president and vice president, one United States senate seat, all 11 congressional seats, a variety of local offices along with an amendment to the Constitution of Virginia. Some localities here in our state will see referendums as well. In the Central Region, Petersburg City's referendum will give voters the opportunity to place their bets on a casino in the city.
