TERREBONNE PARISH, La. (WGNO) — An investigation is underway at Terrebonne High School after school officials reported threats were made against the campus. Houma Police Department officers said the threat was made on Thursday, Sept. 19. They add that the threat is not being taken lightly and out of precaution are working with surrounding law enforcement agencies to increase police presence on all school campuses. Terrebonne Parish School District officials confirmed there has been no credible threat at the school. Students have returned to the classrooms and school officials are working closely with deputies. Woman wounded, man arrested in Houma area shooting This follows a week of threats being made at several schools across Southeast Louisiana parishes. The first reported threat was a bomb scare against a New Orleans area high school on Monday, Sept. 16. On Wednesday, Sept. 18, the Covington Police Department released a juvenile, questioned after a threat was made toward Covington High School via social media. An investigation revealed the threat was not credible. Jefferson Planning Advisory Board recommends denying new Children’s Hospital St. Bernard Parish Sheriff's Office also announced Thursday that they are investigating reports of social media messages containing potential threats aimed at students in the parish. Sheriff James Pohlmann says the threats were aimed at specific schools or areas but he is ensuring the safety of the schools, students, staff and community.
