  COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Columbia Animal Services is offering free microchipping for pets on Sunday, Sept. 22. It’s from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the shelter on Humane Lane, and is only available for City of Columbia and Richland County residents. Your pets must be at least 8 weeks old. All dogs must be on a leash, and all cats must be in a carrier. No appointment is necessary but the microchips are available on a first come first served basis.
