Back open: Trader Joe’s reopened today after closing last week to make repairs following Hurricane Francine. Officials have not disclosed what kind of damage was sustained during the storm.   Luncheon speaker: Randal Gaines, chair of the Louisiana Democratic Party, will be the guest speaker at the Press Club of Baton Rouge on Monday. Gaines, who served in the state House representing LaPlace for 12 years, was selected as the state chair in April. He will discuss the upcoming election and his party’s strategy moving forward.The Press Club meets on Mondays in the ballroom at Drusilla Place Catering, with doors opening at 11:30 a.m. and the program beginning at 12:15 p.m. Learn more about the event.  Election season: Registration has opened to attend an East Baton Rouge Parish mayoral candidate forum next week at Southern University. The Baton Rouge Metropolitan Black Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the North Baton Rouge Chamber of Commerce and the Baton Rouge North Economic Development District, will host the 2024 Mayoral Candidate Forum “Moving Forward, Together” at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.
