ROCHESTER, NY (WROC) - Entrenched high pressure throughout New York State will ensure a sunny day. A coastal low near Cape Cod will bring rain throughout parts of New England, but those showers stay far east. We turn our attention to a trough near Lake Superior that will eject a front down toward Lake Erie Friday night into Saturday morning. This boundary will creep close to Western New York and threaten rain for us going into the start of the weekend. Most remain dry, but a widely scattered shower is possible Saturday. Expect cooler air Sunday, but it should be dry. Monday is dry and should be a touch cooler with highs in the lower 70s. A slow moving surface low coming out of the Rockies will move into New York State Tuesday. This system could potentially linger into Wednesday and Thursday as well.
