HUNTINGTON COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) -- It started, authorities said, as a drug trafficking investigation.
It ended with a crashed vehicle on the interstate surrounded by police with guns drawn.
The Huntington County Sheriff's Department said Thursday around 1 P.M. said it was joined by four other departments, the Huntington Police Department, Warren Police Department, Grant County Sheriff's Office and Indiana State Police, in a short pursuit that began near mile marker 278 on Interstate 69.
About seven miles later, just inside Grant County, the pursued vehicle lost control, crashing into the cable barrier located in the median.
The crash rendered the vehicle inoperable.
Police conducted a felony stop and removed the occupants at gunpoint.
No description of the people inside the vehicle was given, other than they received minor injuries and were taken into custody.
The drug trafficking investigation is being led by the Huntington County Drug Task Force.
