Hot days continue as rain chances rise
Sep 20, 2024
Another morning of quiet and pleasant weather out-the-door, as temperatures hold in the 60s, for most, at sunrise. Expect a bright start with light winds during the morning rush hour.
This afternoon will be another hot one, as temperatures reach the lower 90s under hazy sunshine. Winds will range between 6-12 mph from the southwest and the record high of 94° (1940) should remain intact.
This evening, a weakening cold front will enter the state and prompt a few storms; one or two could be on the stronger side and will be monitored as needed.
Hot weather holds Saturday, too, as more 90-degree heat is expected under bright sun and somewhat humid conditions.
Changes begin on Sunday morning with increased clouds and shower/storm chances increasing statewide. This is great news, as the rainfall is much needed under our drought conditions and recent burn bans. Continued rain chances through Tuesday will also bring a pullback in temperatures while wet and cloudier conditions prevail. Look for more updates on how much rain could fall and better timing over the weekend!
