Both teams are 1-1 on the season, with the Patriots beating the Bengals in Week 1, but falling to the Seahawks in overtime of Week 2, while the Jets got beat up by the 49ers on “Monday Night Football” but rebounded to beat the Titans last Sunday. Betting line and pick for the game Despite the Patriots' recent success in this matchup, New York is the favorite in this game and the folks over at FanDuel Sportsbook have set the betting line at Jets -6.5 points. It wasn’t too long ago that this would have been a very entertaining game to watch, but it’s lost some of its luster of late. The Jets’ defense isn’t as dominant as it has been in recent years, but there’s still plenty of talent on the roster. The Patriots lack superstars, but I like coach Jerod Mayo and believe their two-headed running back duo of Rhamondre Stevenson and Antonio Gibson—currently third in the NFL in team rushing—has a chance to keep them in control of the game.
