    ORANGEBURG, S.C. (WOLO)– A driver has been arrested after a traffic stop in Orangeburg led to the discovery of drugs, say officers. Officers with the Orangeburg Department of Public Safety say while on a routine patrol, they saw a vehicle traveling in the Orangeburg city limits without headlights on. A traffic stop was attempted where the driver and passenger began to display nervous behavior, say officers. During the stop officers say a strong order of marijuana was smelled so the people in the car was removed and a search was conducted. During the search of the vehicle, officers found a black cross-body bag in the driver’s side floorboard. The cross-body bag contained 12.8 grams marijuana, 11.6 grams molly, 3 grams methamphetamine, approximately 20 unknown pills, 2 digital scales, 2 cell phones, and $3,609.46 in cash. The driver who claimed ownership of the bag was placed under arrest and charged with DUS 3rd and subsequent, simple possession of marijuana, distribution of a controlled substance, distribution of methamphetamine, and possession with intent to distribute schedule 1 narcotics- 2nd offense.
