RILEY COUNTY (KSNT) - A school bus was involved in a crash in Riley County when a driver suddenly noticed the red stop signs were deployed on the bus, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP). At 3:41 p.m. on Wednesday, a 61-year-old from Clyde, KS, was driving a 2005 Freightliner semi-truck west on US-77. The school bus was parked on the shoulder of the highway with its red stop signs deployed to let kids out. A 69-year-old man from Clay Center was driving a 2012 Buick Regal and tried to stop after seeing the stop signs on the bus, the KHP said in a crash log. The semi-truck driver rear-ended the Buck Regal and then crashed into the school bus. There were 26 students onboard. Nobody was injured in the crash, according to the KHP.
