The most recent Emerson College Polling/The Hill survey in Georgia finds 49.8% of residents plan to vote for former president Donald Trump and 47.2% would vote for former president Vice President Kamala Harris in 2024. 1.6% of voters remain undecided, while 1.5% say they would vote for someone else. It's a change from polling numbers in August showing 48% of respondents planned to vote for Trump and 48.9% planned to vote for Harris. However, when voters were asked who they expect to become president, 51% said Harris and 48.1% said Trump. 0.9% said someone else. The poll also asked whether Georgia voters approve of the job Governor Brian Kemp is doing — 50.4% said yes, 30.9% disapproved and 18.7% remained neutral. As for the issues, many Georgians (50%) say the economy is their primary concern. This is how the other issues ranked: Healthcare: 8.9% Education: 3.3% Crime: 5.1% Immigration: 6.6% Housing affordability: 8.8% Abortion access: 5.6% Threats to democracy: 9% Foreign Policy: 0.7% Something else: 2% Similar to August's numbers, this poll shows 100% of Georgians plan to vote in the 2024 presidential election. Methodology The sample size for Georgia is n=975 with a credibility interval of +/-3.1%. Data was weighted by statewide voter parameters, including gender, age, race/ethnicity, education, and voter registration/turnout data. The survey was administered by contacting respondents’ cell phones via MMS-to-web and landlines via Interactive Voice Response with respondents provided by Aristotle, along with an online panel provided by CINT. The survey was offered in English. Data was collected between the evening of September 15-18, 2024. The survey was conducted by Emerson College Polling and sponsored by Nexstar Media. It is important to remember that subsets based on demographics, such as gender, age, education, and race/ethnicity, carry with them higher credibility intervals, as the sample size is reduced.Survey results should be understood within the poll’s range of scores, and know with a confidence interval of 95% a poll will fall outside the range of scores 1 in 20 times.
