The Latest Northeast Wisconsin Forecast from Storm Team 5... Good Morning! Our stretch of September highs in the 80s continues this afternoon, which would tie the record of nine straight days in the 80s. After the warmth today comes a chance of showers and storms overnight. For today, early morning fog along the lakeshore will give way to mostly sunny skies with a few additional clouds arriving later in the day. High temperatures will reach the low to mid 80s for Green Bay and the Valley, cooler lakeside. Dew points will be tolerable throughout the day, but as the storm system approaches, this will add a bit of mugginess to the air. The aforementioned front will slide across the state overnight tonight, bring a line of showers and storms into the area. These storms should start to make its presence felt around 10pm out in our western counties and continue to move eastward overnight into early Friday AM. The severe threat remains low, but cant rule out a brief heavy downpour and gust of wind. The highest rainfall totals will be west of the Fox Valley, possibly pushing a half to three quarters of an inch. For the rest of us, expect about .10-.25in of rain from this system. We are in desperate need of rain and while this isn't much rain, its something. As of this morning, we are running 18% of normal on precipitation for the month! Showers should exit over to the lakeshore before daybreak tomorrow morning and maybe an isolated shower for the morning commute. After that, clearing skies over to plentiful sunshine for Friday afternoon. Watching for a very isolated potential of a pop p shower if the cold front lags behind slightly but that chance is low. Highs back into the low to mid 80s. Saturday will be the better of the two weekend days with mostly sunny skies and our final day of 80s for this stretch before we cool off. This drop in temperatures is associated with our next rain chance that could bring more needed rain to the area. Looks like it will be a multi day rain event, something to monitor in terms of amount of coverage, precipitation totals and timing as we get closer.
