CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) - The Summer Book Sale at the Main Library in Charleston will begin on Thursday after being postponed due to Tropical Storm Debby. Charleston Friends of the Library's book sale gives attendees the opportunity to shop for hundreds of books at discounted prices and support the library. "Proceeds from our books sales support building the path to learning and literacy by providing funding to the variety of programs offered across the 18 branches of the library," said LeahDonaldson, Executive Director of Charleston Friends of the Library. Officials have announced that the summer book sale will feature paperbacks starting at $1 and hardbacks starting at $4. A wide range of genres will be available, including mysteries, romances, classics, children's books, local histories, cookbooks, and various non-fiction topics. The sale will begin at the Main Library on Thursday, September 19 from 1 - 7 p.m. and continue on Friday, September 20 from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The main library is located at 68 Calhoun Street in Charleston.
