CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- The Richmond Executive-Chesterfield County Airport will host a free family-friendly movie night with an opportunity to view aircraft displays in October. The third annual Open House and Movie Night will take place from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5 at the Richmond Executive-Chesterfield County Airport. Beginning at sunset, the film "Planes From Fire & Rescue" will be shown on a large movie screen, with the airport's runway and taxiway in the background. Prior to the movie, the event will show aircraft and apparatus displays from Chesterfield Fire and EMS, Police and Sheriff departments, Virginia State Police MedFlight1, as well as other local aviation organizations. Local food trucks will be on-site selling their offerings at the event. The Chesterfield Police Activities League will also offer popcorn and water for $1, with all proceeds to benefit the league. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets to sit on during the event. No pets, outside food and drinks, as well as glassware will be allowed at the event. If the event needs to be canceled due to inclement weather, a spokesperson for the event said it will be canceled no later than 2 p.m. on Saturday, with updates to be posted on the airport's Facebook and Instagram pages.
