Dumbarton Oaks makes for a gorgeous fall visit   1.  Fall officially begins this weekend, so start planning for fall fun!  Of course, there are allll the fall festivals happening around the area, some that have already begun and even more starting this weekend and next.  But if you’re seeking some off-the-farm ways to enjoy the season, check out 10 Great Places to Enjoy Autumn Around the DC Area (that are not farm festivals).   2. If you’re looking for weekday fun for little ones, or school-aged kids ever have a Friday off from school this fall, here’s a fun activity to keep in mind:  Astro Beer Hall in the Village at Shirlington is offering Mini Doughnut Decorating classes every Friday at 11am through November. Each guest will receive six mini doughnuts with a wide selection of decorations to customize their doughnuts. All ages are welcome, and spots can be reserved here for $15 a person.   3. Eater DC’s recently-shared round-up of where to eat and drink in the Navy Yard is a good one to bookmark.  Not only is a lot happening there — baseball games, soccer matches (near by), viewing parties, splash areas, ice skating,Yards Park events, and more — the neighborhood’s location along the river makes it a great area for relaxing and hanging out.  (PS: The KFDC list of kid-friendly DC eats has some recs, too.)   4. Halloween is still over a month away, but it’s almost time to make the front yard festive for it!  Some spooky fun picks: A giant web, creepy cool eyeball lights, friendly treehugging ghosts, inflatable pumpkin-cats.   5. A few fun posts recently shared in our family chat:  From Sasha (is this a hint?).  From Owen (Hoo dat in pic 3?)… also from Owen . From Levi (he so gets me).  From me (knowing my kids will lol because it’s true).
