MONROE, N.C. – Monroe Police are investigating a shooting that took place on Burke St. that resulted in the hospitalization of a 15-year-old girl, according to a news release. The release states that on September 18 after 1 a.m., police responded to a call regarding shots fired on Burke St. off of Morgan Mill Road. Upon arrival on the scene, police say they were told a 15-year-old victim was taken to the hospital with several gunshot wounds. The victim is expected to recover from her injuries.
