Irondequoit boys soccer gets statement win over ChurchvilleChili

IRONDEQUOIT, N.Y. (WROC) — The Irondequoit boys soccer team defeated defending sectional champions from Churchville-Chili 2-1 on Tuesday night, its first home win of the season.
The Eagles struck first with a goal from Bailey Connor, his third of the season, to lead 1-0 with 17 minutes remaining in the first half.
A penalty on the Saints gave Irondequoit a free kick with eight minutes before half, where Evan Green put it in the back of the net to extend the lead to 2-0.
Churchville-Chili fought back in the second half with a goal from Christopher Keller to make it a one-goal game, but the Saints could not rally back as Eagles goalkeeper Tobias Encina held them scoreless in the final minutes.
Irondequoit (2-1) will travel to Gates Chili on Thursday, September 19th. Churchville Chili (3-1-1) will host Spencerport on the same evening.
