HUNTINGTON COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) -- All students at Huntington County Community School Corporation (HCCSC) will have a synchronous eLearning day Thursday following a potential threat. According to a press release issued Wednesday night by HCCSC Superintendent John Trout, administrators at Huntington North High School learned of a potential threat involving a student bringing a weapon to school. The district and Huntington police are investigating and discovered other social media posts that are believed to be tied to the initial threat. Since the eLearning day was not planned, the district said students who will not have their school device with them will be able to make up missed assignments on Friday. Trout said he is grateful to the community members who shared info about the potential threat to school administrators and police. Students expelled from LaGrange County high school over threats "Ensuring the safety of our students is a collective effort, and we are grateful for the vigilance of our parents, students and staff in maintaining a secure environment for learning," Trout said in Wednesday's press release. The school district plans to share the results of the investigation to the school community once it is finished and "the safety and security of our students, staff and buildings have been ensured."
