TOPEKA (KSNT) - Gage Park Memorial hosted their annual car and truck show Sunday, September 15. Around 100 cars and participants gathered at the corner of 10th and Gage Blvd to show off some of their prize possessions. But the event wasn't just to show off hotrods. Money raised from the car show is going towards a new monument. "All of the money raised will go to our newest monument that we are raising money for, which will be the Global War on Terrorism," Darlene Lillo, Gage Park War Memorial Committee member, said. Last year's car show raised money for a Vietnam monument. Lillo says it will be up any day now, and will have a dedication ceremony Monday, November 11 at 2 p.m. For more local news, click here.
