NARRAGANSETT, R.I. (WLNE) — Swim Across America’s 15th annual Rhode Island Open Water Swim raised over $280,000 for cancer research Saturday. Organizers said 800 swimmers took part in the event, which was held at Roger Wheeler State Beach. There were four swim options: a one-mile or half-mile course for ages 13 and up, a quarter-mile course for ages 9 to 12, and a new race for ages 12 and under.
