AUSTIN (KXAN) -- This first full weekend of September will be ideal for any and all outdoor activities. A cold front will move south through Central Texas today. Afternoon highs will be cooler than normal. Today's normal high is 94° The front brings in much drier air off a north to northeast breeze. The humidity will lower to the upper half of the 20s this afternoon. A comfortable feel with low humidity the next several days Low temperatures the next three mornings will be in the 50s for the Hill Country to the 60s along and east of I-35. Lower humidity will make these mornings quite comfortable. Enjoying a few mornings in the 50s and 60s The last time Austin had a low in the 60s was 64° on May 31. The last time a low in the 50s was recorded was 55° on May 23rd. The day before that was the last time there was a low in the 40s with a minimum of 49°. The next chance of rain comes Tuesday, at least for now. A tropical wave on the Yucatan Peninsula is producing widespread showers and thunderstorms in southeast Mexico and Guatemala. Wednesday holds our best chance for showers and thunderstorms. This all depends on the movement of what is now a tropical wave. Wednesday could be the wettest day The chances of this wave developing into the next tropical depression have increased to 40% over the next two days to a 60% chance probability over the next seven. If this does become the next tropical storm, the name of the storm will be Francine. Rain possible from this system as early as Tuesday Looking ahead, the Climate Prediction Center has all of Central Texas in a warmer and wetter outlook from September 14th to 20th.
